	Ohhh - disappointing Sylvs !! Look on the bright side - the decision has not been made yet !!! Wait 'till the nurse arrives ! I will keep my fingers crossed for you ! You haven't given us a weather update yet - It is almost 30 degrees here !!!! SO hot !! Winter was almost here a week ago and most of us have put away our summer clothes and got out the winter woollies !! We are all very confused now !!! Will check back later to see how you are doing! 	My mother was one of the most superstitious people there could ever be! The family always used to have to say:- Knock on wood ............. still do that, but more jokingly these days! We usually tap on our own head over here!! No longer obey any of the following:- White rabbit, White rabbit, White rabbit Not allowed to wear green 'cos it was unlucky Men must take off their hat indoors Never put a pair of shoes on the table Never open an umbrella indoors Don't take the ashes out on New Year's Day (bad luck) Don't let a black cat cross your path Never walk under a ladder Make a wish when you see a white horse in a field. and many more I cannot remember! s xxx

	waiting for the nurse to come sometime in the next hour. She'l remove the staples, but I fear that drain might not be coming out which means no shower :-( :-( :-( :-(

	Indeed I was not Gins you cheeky minx. People were enjoying that film before I was born... just. Loads of superstitions, sayings, actions around aren't there Dea? Also lots of explanations for their meanings! Not really a superstitious person myself and will happily walk under a ladder unless there is a wobbly paint pot at the top of it! :-D Just have a bit of me time before I venture out this afternoon.....it's tooooo hot.....

	One that many people seem to use Jonesey is when they remark on something good which is happening and they don't want it to suddenly change is 'touch wood' and they look around quickly for some wood to touch! I don't know where it comes from but I still do it sometimes and so do many other people. Dea x

	Good morning one and all. Thank you for breakfast Persie. However, unlike Dea, I cannot say I like every single thing on there as I actually don't know what some of them are..... :-S I will play safe and go for citrus muffins and lime marmalate - that should put some 'zest' in my day! Jonesey, there are lots of old wives tales about white rabbits etc. Don't think we have any customs like that in our house to be honest. However, when I hear of a white rabbit, I think of Harvey from the old James Stewart film! (showing my age now - Gins won't know what I am on about!) Thinking about 'old wives' tales though, I tend to shake my head in despair when I read of any 'extensive study, costing thousands of pounds' which has been carried out on something which those of us of a certain age, knew already!! I often reprimand the tv and tell the announcer ....."my grandmother could have told you that - so why has so much money been spent on it!" Dear oh dear.....talking to the tv again :-S

	WHITE RABBITS! Don't ask me why but ever since I was a lad (Queen Victoria was in her pomp at the time) I and other members of my family have been in the habit of saying those words as the first words we speak out loud on the first day of every month. The belief is that by doing so we will somehow be in the receipt of good fortune during the month. Infantile, probably. Crazy, almost certainly. Today being the first of October I performed the ritual as usual and then began to wonder whether others have similar customs or traditions that they perform or carry out without actually knowing why or the origin of what they do. Any takers?
	Researching: Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

	OOhhh Goody !!! - A 'proper' breakfast this morning and BOY do I need it ! :-D :-D I can't see a single thing on there today which I don't like ! I posted a too long sentence and it took us off the page to edited and it cocked it up Just a little portion of feta and zuchinni tart with tomato chilli marmalade as I am a VIP today at the Sheffield Utd match and unfortunatley will be forced to eat a three course lunch, champers and suffer a meet with the players after the game ............best bib and tucker, it could be my chance to become a WAG :-D

	Breakfast: Creamy porridge or cornflakes served with poached figs in Shiraz. Lentil, mushroom & ricotta lasagne. Feta and zuchinni tart with tomato chilli marmalade. Manuka Bacon, Black Pudding, Chorizo sausages, vege sausages. Eggs: Fried, poaced, scrambled or boiled with toast soldiers. Grilled tomatoes, potato croquettes, silverbeet pakoras Breads: Sour dough, pumpkin and chive, pita pockets, gluten free and ciabatta. Spreads: Vegemite, Peanut butter, Rata Honey, Tomato chilli marmalade (nice with ciabatta or pumking and chive bread)... Three berry Jam, lime marmalade & crab apple jelly. Date scones, peach cobbler, pecan tarts, citrus muffins and roasted rhubarb fool. Juices, banana smoothies, milo, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Tomorrow will be an option menu again with emphasis on higher GI options. (and I don't mean that the Yanks are joining us for breakfast)

	Toot, Toot, Tootsie goodbye, I probably talk to you more on FB.. anyway. Lovely little pic of Lexie... I copied it so I could enlarge and have a better look... She is a sweetie. Cyns a lateral thinker... puts on different hats.... and pops up outside the box... I can relate to that!! Gins ... why have you put a zip about half way down the previous page? 	The thing is, if anyone does follow that avice as given on fb ....... they'll find they ahve ot become a member of GR I believe that most of the people on the GR wall on fb are not members of this site s xxx
