Good morning Cynthia.
That was some mouthful you just came out with.
I hope that does not mean you will have to put money in the swear box. ;-)

Oh - I just LOVE Lancashire Hotpot Cynthia !!!

A clue for anyone who is not from 'up North' - you would have to go to the local 'chippie' for the other one :-D :-D

It's Friday!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay. In time for brekkie! Oooooh......full English I think please Persie. Thank you very, very much.

I am, however, slightly worried by the fact that Gins is suggesting running her finger over someone's yukky teeth?????? Strange woman she is!

As for dialects, I am so glad no-one has mentioned those two Wigan delicacies..........Prater Pie and Babbiesyed with peawet.

It's a little too early in the morning for a translation ;-)

Morning LK ~~~~~~~~

LOVELY breakfast Persie,

I will have (for my starter) - Creamy garlic mushrooms on toasted ciabatta.

Then the "Full English breakfast" please.

I'm glad I didn't have to cook today - have to get ready early for grandson's arrival!

See you all later,

My OH is from NZ... but he worked as a truckie in the UK when he did his OE and he can usually pick where people are from by their accents.. and 8 times out of 10 he has been to the place they are from.

He even drove his truck into the back stairs of a double decker bus.. it was in a layby and he had no where to go because of something coming the other way... He was traveling through Scotland at the time. The case came up before the procurator fiscal.. but he was only fined a few quid since he was from NZ and not England.

Recipe for Cinnamon Toast:

Take 6 eggs lightly beaten, whisk into them 1 cup low fat cream,
1 cup milk, plus 1 tspn salt, 1/2 tspn ground nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 tspn cardamom, and 1 tspn of vanilla essence.

In a second bowl place 4 cups crushed cornflakes.

Take a loaf of ciabatta or baguette bread and cut into 2cm thick slices..

dip the bread slices into the egg mixture to saturate and then into the cornflakes, pressing the flakes on both sides of the bread.

Set aside on a baking sheet in a single layer,

Melt 2 tblspns olive spread (or whatever you use) in a large frying pan over a med. heat. Cook the slices on both sides.

dust with icing sugar to serve, maple syrup and fruit opitonal to go with it... or even a spoon or more of yoghurt.

Persephone Report 7 Oct 2011 05:41

I have to wonder about cauliflower cheese in a hole...
I do all sorts of variants on cauliflower cheese, chucking bacon bits, mushrooms or chives or converting it to a macaroni and cauliflower cheese etc but have never thought of putting it in a Yorkshire pudding batter... can just here himself saying eeeh oop what's this ere lass.

Maybe LK's ... Stow in the hole... is the name of a pub.. we have Dogs Bollox.

Just caught up with the posts as I couldnt see them until I posted again

I have had words with the person concerned Syl, but nothing seems to be changing

He has millions of cats and he smells of filthy cat litter. His teeth are gross and you can see the build up on them and on his gums......if you ran your finger nail accross them.....arghhhhhh

I also asked him if he had an iron.....nope!

I think you get the picture now
