Im late this morning but not going in to work until later today...

They went to bed after getting home from the match...a couple too many drinks me thinks!

Very quiet here after the bussle of yesterday......I hate Mondays

Poor OH Sylvs.......lots of 'organisations' and not just churches, are finding things difficult in this economic climate, but it's extra hard when you are relying simply on donations to keep going.


Not sure that an economic report in the middle of Sunday worship is entirely helpful ....... it can put people's backs up. Much better to base a sermon on giving in gratitude.....not to give from what you have 'left' in your purse, but to give from what is 'right' in gratitude for blessings received.


Funny enough I read a 'funny' about a church facing large repair bills, and the Minister had asked that anyone who was willing to make a substantial donation to please stand. The organist played the National Anthem :-D



Now, am I going to get any washing out today??? Looks okay at the moment but we are forecast to have rain for the next three days.... :-(

I will have cheesy sausage and egg bake, grilled tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, Maple baked beans and lots of bacon please Sylvia.

Jamaican beef patties, smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers, Vietnamese spring rolls (vegetarian) with sesame dip, Greek chicken casserole, ratatouille (vegetarian), Thai-style noodles and shrimp, stirfry (beef, or vegetarian)


Buttermilk Dollar Pancakes, Blueberry Fruit Syrup


Lemon Yoghurt, Vanilla Bean Youghurt


Toast (sourdough, rye, white, whole grain, 100% brown, Hovis, gluten free), Danish, barm cakes


Muffins -- blueberry muffins, chocolate chip muffins, raisin bran muffins,


Jams, jellies, Ginger marmalade, 3 fruit marmalade, marmite, peanut butter, vegemite

OH is back out at the Apple Fest again ........... he came back slightly sunburnt yesterday afternoon.


He came back from church this morning sputtering with frustration (and a little bit of anger)


Only 2 others turned up for the choir.


Then there was a "special" replacement of sermon with detailed economic report

Looks as though they have serious money problems, and the answer may be to close the church.


BUT also the minister was unable to forego giving a sermon .....................



so the service lasted about 40 minutes longer than usual!
