Wonderful breakfast Persie!!! - I am STUFFED!!!!! <3 <3 <3

SO much to eat and everything was SO lovely that you just have to have some of everything!! :-D :-D :-D

One thing I have to ask though regarding the "Yemenite Jewish breakfast served with grated fresh tomato" - How on earth does one 'grate' a fresh tomatoe??? - Surely they are just too 'wet' to grate???

I will have to give it a try. :-D

See you all later for Ginny's promised lunch. It is a good job I had all this early or else I wouldn't have room for that :-D

I donlt think you are responsible for a deceased partner's debts on his death - my lovely husband died nine years ago last week and his Barclaycard account came in after - I did pay it, though I was given to understand that I was not obliged to

Bit tired now Ja....x BUT, I am sure you could make a will which cuts him out and leaves whatever you have to who you want it to go to - He 'may' have the right to contest it though??

If you stay married and he inherits from his parents and then 'pops his clogs' without cutting you out, then you could claim - however, anyone who he is 'attached to', even siblings, might also contest???

Have a think about it,

I know Dea thats what I have been thinking for ages. I had a critical/Life insurance which named my girls as the beneficeries should I pop my clogs. As I claimed ,I have it now though the way things are going it will be gone soon :-D

Then I thought what if his mother dies as she is in her 80s, would he offer me half of what he gets from her estate? (not that I would ever ask for any) My parents are a lot younger but they have more to leave and I would'nt want to give him any.

I must do it soon....I know you can do it online but dont know if its any good

One thought you might consider Ja....x is that if you were to 'pop orf' - he would be entitled to all you have, as next of kin!!

You might prefer it to go to your daughters, or someone else???

5th Nov seems a good day to start divorce proceedings. I did mention to youngest I was thinking of doing it...and did she mind? Her answer was "Well dad said he would never marry ***** anyway" so does that mean she wants us to stay married?

Gee

Gee Report 29 Oct 2011 17:38

I think you meant Ja..x!

We paid off moms bits and pieces when she shuffled off.....just felt it was the right thing to do

But Ja..x..........................divorce him ;-)

jax

jax Report 29 Oct 2011 17:37

I doubt whether he would have any real debts at the moment, but I dont want to pay for his funeral unless I have too

Dea

Dea Report 29 Oct 2011 17:25

Legally Ginns, if you are next of kin and you can prove that they have no money in 'their estate' (which my brother didn't), you are not expected to pay it, but, if the deceased did, then you have to go to Probate which takes ages!!! (If the person had no will), and then you have to sort out all the creditors from 'the estate' - Very complex and not worth getting nto for the sake of £9.49 !!!

You DO need to think though, in your situation - you don't want any hassle if he 'pops orf' !!

Dea Xxx

jax

jax Report 29 Oct 2011 17:20

So if you are the next of kin to someone are you expected to pay all there debts off?

If so I better get divorced before they let estranged husband have a credit card again :-D

I have just received a letter from a well known 'energy Company' to say that they are sending my information to an 'External Debt Collection Agency' because I have failed to pay a £9.49 debt owed by my recently deceased brother !!!!

Don't worry - I have written the cheque and composed a 'suitable' letter to go along with it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

'Bar Stewards' - the lot of them !!!
