Mine like toasted sandwiches too Dea.....do you know what they particularly like?

A baked bean and cheese toastie. They do like tinned spaghetti and sometimes have that in a toastie too........no accounting for taste really :-D

Well, 'I' know how you feel Fans!!! - I have only just taken grandchildren back home :-0

As I had the two of them for tea tonight I 'agreed to' fish fingers, chips and beans.... yuuck!!.

They have stopped asking me for spaghetti as I refuse to buy that horrible tinned 'stuff' - I will buy baked beans but never 'that' ;-)

Grandson wanted a tomato sauce sandwich for lunch! - Needless to say, he had to settle for a ham + cheese toasted sandwich - FAR healthier ;-)

Hope he starts sleeping well for you in the nights and not getting you up too early in the mornings.

Just going to nip around the house clearing the 'bomb damage' from every room, then I am going to have a sit down and 'unwind'... phewwww!

Dea x

I admit that I HATE cooking and willingly abstain from it whenever possible. I was taught to make gravy by my mother-in-law and, because my daughter-in-law was so enarmoured of it, the technique has been passed on. :-P

Settling down for a nice easy evening now.... :-D

That is a very interesting message from Mr Hurricane Fans - wait till he sees you using the photocopier!

My grandson saw grandad use it this morning and we have since gone through nearly half a packet of copy paper as he does his 'scribbles' then takes them to the machine, lifts the lid and puts them in and then presses the correct button (and there are MANY to choose from)!!

He just loves it when yet another copy comes shooting out the other end :-D

Just taken him to playgroup for a couple of hours so just time to hide all the paper away ;-)

Last week he discovered the 'hole punch' and we made SO many holes. He thinks this is much more fun though!!

Enjoy your day with him and just think of the rest you will get on Monday
:-D :-D :-D

It's different 'cos it's soup...........I make a rather nice gravy if I say so myself - tain't particularly like soup though......gulp. Don't like 'thin' gravy either - nor thick - I like it when it just starts to 'pull' when you're stirring.

Gee Report 4 Nov 2011 09:21

That's dis-re-gusting Gins........yuk.

I was just going to enjoy a lovely breakfast (thank you Sylvs) and you go and talk about pouring veggie soup over your lunch. Scuse me >>>>>
Oh yes and jax wasn't feeling sorry for you, you plank, she was feeling sorry for the way veggies are treated. Sigh.......

Persie - love it! Did you think that up yourself or did you poach it? :-D

I have had the most frustrating start to my fave day! My ISP payment details and bank statements are out of sync and I have had to make phone call after phone call to sort it all out..........arrrghhhh. That is why one is late!

Haven't even opened the blinds yet.....the lady across the road will think we're a'goner!

When we go to moms in Wales she always takes us for a Sunday carvery and it took the staff some months to realise I didnt want the vegi option of some tart or something

Give me all the veg in the house please and now they also have Bisto gravy just for me caus its meat free! Before that I used to pour the veg soup over my lunch :-D

Gee

Gee Report 4 Nov 2011 08:12

I lurve cabbage :-D

Some people think veg is just what you say Pers, boiled and stuck at the side of some meat

I do veg lasagna, cannelloni, pasta bakes, spag boll, pizza, ratatouille, curry, you name it I do it with veg and not meat. I do use Quorn for spag boll and chilli but its well good for you

My kids never know how much veg they are eating caus they cant see it half the time! They do love thier salads though

I could just eat a plate full of veg covered in gravy!

That is so cruel,

Nowadays they try and get meat eaters to cut down on red meat and have more fish and chicken and it is a good to have a meat free day.

But when I grew up veg did tend to be boring ... it was all meat and three veg style, roast on Saturday and then cold for several days. Followed by various things like steak and kidney pie or mince or bangers or fish etc... chicken was only eaten on very special occasions. Rice was not considered a veg and spaghetti was out of a tin for high tea on a Sunday night after soup.

Now we have lentils, couscous, rice of various persuasions and all sorts of pastas..and a lot more varieties of vegetables. Food is far more fun and adventurous.
My parents didn't cook cabbage properly till I was in my late teens, until then it was boiled ragged. :-P

Right now on TV the supermarket advert is about gluten free food... :-)

"The plight of the poor vegetable" - brilliant Persie ! :-D :-D :-D

Ginns - they did that to me at school when I was little too!

I told them I could not eat sago pudding (frog spawn) - they MADE me eat it but they soon regretted it as it didn't stay down very long and they had to 'clear up' after me! - they didn't make me eat it ever again ;-)

Now for some of Sylvia's lovely breakfast - I don't have to be forced to eat that :-D :-D :-D - Thank you Sylvia Xxx

Then, I must get ready for the early arrival of my little grandson - busy day today!!!

See you all later.

Nice one Pers!

When I was at school I used to tell them I didnt eat meat but they would stand over me and make me eat it :-(

I used to manage the sausage and burgers but anything that you had to chew hard and looked like meat made me heave........

Can you imagine that these days, they would be in court for abuse!
