Dea,

I am glad that the "Gypsy" thread has been deleted before things really got nasty. I have made a couple of posts on the persons other thread. I think that it is unlikely that there is a gypsy connection unless it goes way back to well before the lady's great grandmother Elizabeth was born in 1880.

Perhaps the term Gypsy cropped up in a family story because the family moved from Bridport, Dorset to Essex. I'm pretty sure that most of us have encountered family stories which when investigated fully have proved to be, if not 100% false, partially so based upon a misunderstanding or misinterpreted comment.

I have it on a very good authority (Sylvs) that if you go in your jamas no one will see you ... you adopt a cloak of invisibility...

Yes - she is back Persie but it is now 'all sorted' I hope.

She got herself in 'a bit of a state' but has now sent me a very nice e-mail by way of an apology!

We have had 'a little chat' and she really is VERY sorry!

I suggested that she should delete 'that thread' and we could make a fresh start before things got any worse.

Hope we can put this behind us now.

I will have to get up in the middle of the night to have some butternut soup.... wonder if I can sneak in and get a thermos full and take it with me for when I meet my friend who is crazy as I am for lunch tomorrow (my time).

The sun did try and try today and then it rained and it has got quite cold. Had to put my wheely bins out in between rain when it was just drizzly.
