I'm not even going to be taking Tamoxifen!

I got a phone call about 6 pm on Tuesday evening, from the doctor I saw on Monday.

Because of the very low risk that I've got, he had consulted with an oncologist. The oncologist thought my risk rate was close to 5%, rather than the 10% Voduc had been working on when making his suggestions.

Oncologist then worked out that I would get 1-2% benefit from taking tamoxifen, balanced against a 1% increased risk of blood clot and 1% increased risk of uterine cancer ..... plus the hot flashes.

Basically the risks are almost outweighing the benefit in my case.

Both of them decided that they would be comfortable if I decided not to take tamoxifen.

So that is what I have decided.

Apparently I can return the free 3 month supply of tamoxifen back to the Cancer Agency pharmacy, so long as the packets are unopened. I still have an appointment with the radiologist in 3 months time, which can be cancelled.

My treatment now is 6 monthly physical examination by my GP.

Morning all, hope you are well. Horrible, wet and muggy here. I hate HUMIDITY!

I know they added the sad emoticon and the heart but that is all I think.

How sad Cynthia, makes you wonder how many people there are that are isolated and noone to care for them. OH and I used to foster children, until I did that I never realised how many people have no family or friends to help out when life doesn't go to plan.

I'm guessing that there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth in a certain household in Sheffield tonight as someone's favourite football team have just been beaten in a cup tie.

:-\ This one too I think ja...x and, I think we've only had :-S since the summer. It's just that I remember think how few they gave us at the beginning. I have a daft sort of memory for things like that.

Anyway.....I feel SO sad :-(

Just watching a programme about the City of Westminster and what makes it tick. One of the people featured is a lady who is a 'funeral arranger'. It seems she oversees the funerals and details of those who die alone. Just saw her as the lone mourner at the burial of some called Susan Strand - an old lady who was found on the streets back in the 1990's. She didn't know who she was as she had memory probs. She chose the name Susan because she liked it and Strand was given to her because that's where she was found. :-( :-(

It then moved on to a lady pest controller.........nice. She has just been to a house infested with cockroaches.......and the state of the bathroom was............arrrrggghhhhhhhhh :-0 :-0

OH is in another opera with the Student Opera Group. It's the second dress rehearsal tonight, then performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday matinee.

It's an adaptation of Arthur Miller's play, The Crucible.

I remember seeing the play in the mid 1950s ............... very grim. Based on the Salem witch trials.
