I'm impressed MC did Euclidean Geometry at school... Maybe mine was that as well I dunno... I can remember a few of my theorems and good old Pythagoras..

My buttons were square to oblong ... now I have definite circles and they look like lift buttons... when this thread resorts to showing it's page numbers in quadruple format the numbers are too long for the circumference of the circle and appear on either side of the diameter line.

Like R on his tractor I am never sure whether the current page will appear as 1 or at this point 1553... Perhaps R you should get out your protractor instead.

I shall now do a 180 degree turn and return to my arc. and swing on my trapezium.... they may give me octagon buttons next.

Persie :-(

:-( :-( :-( :-( I don't know why this is the sad sign with the eyes raised sky wards it looks like ... "whatever"

Hi Dea, that cherub is my little monster when she was about 22 months old who looked like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth!

OK - I agree with Cynthia - they are OBLONG, my mistake (I knew it began with O).

They are not rectangles because they do not have 4 right angles. They are not square because they do not have 4 equal sides. (But I guess different screens display different ways).

I should have paid more attention when we did Euclidean geometry at school.

Dea

Dea Report 15 Nov 2011 21:08

I might be wrong but isn't an oblong a 'standy -up' rectangle ???, whereas a rectangle is usually a 'lie-ey -down' one ???

Gee

Gee Report 15 Nov 2011 21:00

Are you talking about the page number buttons?

They are oblong/rectangle on my pc....same thing!

Dea

Dea Report 15 Nov 2011 20:06

Cynths - I have to correct you here!

They are not 'oblong', they are rectangular !!! (according to grand-daughter and I am sure she is probably correct !!!)
