How nice of them, Dea! Mind, you do deserve it as you prevented them coming back to a lot of damage.

If you need a hand with cakes and chocolates then I'm sure I could force myself .......

Thank you MC - I only wish I could get them to you 'in the real world' rather than on here !

I KNOW I give the impression that I eat all the time but in actual fact, I will find it very difficult to get through such a huge amount within the next 6 months !!

Perhaps I will take a trip to the local hospital or hospice, or an Old People's Home and share them out there??

That's a lovely idea, Dea.

We often get gifts at work at Christmas (chocs, biscuits, wine, etc) but we aren't allowed to keep them so we take them to the local hospital and they're always grateful.

Dea

Dea Report 29 Dec 2010 18:30

Where do you work MC where you are not allowed to keep Christmas Gifts (I don't mean where exactly, just in what 'field' of work) ??

Government agency - we have to be whiter than white!

Dea

Dea Report 29 Dec 2010 19:12

AAAAhhhh !!- I think I DO remember now which Agency you work for.

Shame you can't share the prezzies though around the office.

Ooooooh! Whst a long day it has been and guess what I did??

Went to a cashpoint to withdraw £30 and walked away with my card but didn't take the money!! I lived in vague hope that someone would hand it in to the bank.....but.....silly me....of course they didn't! What a wally!

Have got most of the stuff for tomorrow's buffet but it was hard work and a touch stressful. Then I dropped my phone whilst phoning OH to put the oven on. It fell apart but the girl in the shop came to my rescue. Glad to be home!

Cynthia - sounds like things were getting on top of you! What a shame about the money.

Have a cuppa and put your feet up for a bit.

Gee Report 29 Dec 2010 20:00

Oh Cyns...and I know you would hand it in. I think youve seen the last of that

Our hospitals wont accept food gifts due to H&S...even if they are sealed

Cynthia Report 29 Dec 2010 20:08

jax Report 29 Dec 2010 20:28

I seem to remember when working for bank money was counted from machines each night. so if they are £30 over you maybe lucky, never heard of it getting sucked back in but times have changed since the put £1 notes in them lol

Good grief Cyns - check with your bank - as Ginny says - if it is not taken - it is sucked back in - check your statement - it is probably cancelled transaction

Fans has answered - wanted her address - could not find it - but have now of course - went to put it in folder with all my addresses - and it was there

Only place I had not looked - of course

Dea - sure your grandchildren will enjoy your M&S goodies

Have a lovely day tomorrow Cyn

I am up up and away early in morning

Cyns

In anycase the bank will have a time record and a camera on the cash machine - so will have a video of who followed you and who took it

Not all machines have cctv Renes they will have details of the card that was used after though but how would that stand up in court?

If it was a bank they may have but I know supermarket ones don't always have them after my purse was stolen and some nice person who I worked with tried to take £300 out

TTTTooo much chocolate Renes - I rarely give my grand-children chocolate - usually fresh fruits, which they actually prefer !!

Grand-daughter's favourites are strawberries for fruit and brussel sprouts for veg !! (strange child - but true).

They eat crisps and chocolates when given by parents but when I give them a choice here they choose the fruit and veg ??

Oh I thought they all had them - to protect themselves - not their customers of course -

Still it is worth asking at bank any way

Dea

Dea Report 29 Dec 2010 20:53

Cynths - thank goodness you drew out only £30 (enough to lose though - but it could have been more !!)

I have done that myself when getting 'cash-back' in my local shop - I just walked off without it !!
