My passport was renewed last year,so I am also ready to go.
HID has a brand spanky new passport from last year too as he had never had one..
Only been to France and some Island off Spain on one of those year ones you could get in the Post Office years ago.
So I am looking for cheap flights to which airport please Renes?

I had a couple of those yearly passports just after I left school.
The first one never got used as I was due to go away with "Clarksons" with a couple of friends and they went bust two days before we were meant to go. I believe that was the first big holiday company to go down the swaney back in 1974

I was just looking around the boards and noticed this post which mentions passport renewal. When you renew your passport you now have to have a very specific passport photo taken a word of warning for anyone who has a fringe you must now move it away from your face and have your hair behind your ears took my friend 5 attempts in the photo booth to get it right with the help of a very nice member of staff at my local passport office. So dont forget to take a hair brush and clips!!!!!

Up until just over 2 years ago, I worked abroad and would make up to 16 - 20+ trips a year to various places in Spain.

Unfortunately, I cannot do that now so the 'poor passport' which no longer has any gold lettering on the outside as it has been worn off through use, has now expired.

On a 'happy note' - I have not yet 'expired' !!!

Fans - EDIT - House Free 24 Nov to 12 Dec -then from 14 Feb got some using it 13 Dec to 13 Feb

Malaga airport - Ryanair used to fly Stansted /Granada - but ceased in April - not sure where you would fly from - Granada close -but Malaga is only 1 1/2 hours door to door

Jax Would be difficult sweetie - as Dea said am up a mountain - everywhere is up and down - but I would willingly help your HID carry you up - slopes and steps - you need one of portable motor scooters things

My friend FIL takes his to Tenerife - on the plane

Oh well looks like thats out then Renes

Thinking about all the holidays I have had in the past none of that would have bothered me. One place I would have loved to visit again was phi phi in Thailand had to get three boats to get there carrying a huge suitcase and jumping from one to another, I would be in the drink now if I tried that.

Those photo machines look confusing enough these days Karen I would'nt want to get it wrong and have to pay another fiver

That's funny, Karen. ;)

I had bangs (as we call your fringe) throughout high school. Every night, taped 'em in place to keep them flat; half the time showed up at school with tape intact. Finally gave up. I have a little widow's peak that pokes my bangs up, so hair has been parted straight down the middle ever since.

There was method in my bangs madness. I have a conehead-worthy forehead. Most of my current official ID photos (driver's licence, health card; passport expired a few years ago, but I wore contacts then) show the results of tipping my head down slightly so my glasses don't flash ... and my giant forehead does instead ...

The things are supposed to prove I'm not an "alien", but they pretty much accomplish the opposite!

I am sure there would be a way Ja...x.

I have never been to Thailand but I am sure it is beautiful - beyond me now, I think !!

My most favourite place was Mexico - The 'real' Mexico, not the tourist areas !! - absolutely unforgettable - the places, the people, the culture, the markets, - just EVERYTHING !!!!!

OOOhh Janey - 'glasses, widow's peak, cone head, glasses AND bangs !!! - all covered by 'sticky tape' !!

You REALLY must put a photo on here so we can stop having nightmares about you !!!

JaneyCanuck Report 10 Nov 2010 18:35

Mexico is in the past now, Dea. You folks may not get as much news of it all as we do, but only a crazy person would travel in Mexico these days. The drug trade / organized crime and corruption everywhere make it dangerous for anyone who lives there, let alone tourists.

I was only ever there for 12 hours once myself, overnight, when we missed our flight home from Havana and had to make our way indirectly since the next flight didn't leave for another week.

jax Report 10 Nov 2010 18:36

I went to Mexico for my 50th a few years ago and thats when I noticed I had problems with mobility and balance.
All the things I wanted to do did'nt get around to it in the end we went to Cancun not the real Mexico, full of young Americans and Canadians popular place for thier spring break.

OOOhh Dea - PHffft!

I'm sure we could all give as bad if not worse a description of ourselves.

... C'mon, somebody try ...

Dea

Dea Report 10 Nov 2010 18:42

OOOhh Janey,

Mexico is WONDERFUL !!! - It is a Big place and there are many different areas - some are awful and some are just wonderful !!

For example - Cancun, where Ja...x went to, is not the 'real' Mexico, but if you want a really luxury holiday with themost beautiful blue/green sea - this IS the place - I spent a 'little' time there' but not really for me for more than a few days !!

Go to where the 'real people' live and join them - It is just 'out of this world' !!

A poster called Laurie has 3 postings for the Piper family

"The Weald " is a superb site with masses of information transcribed from PR - and BT - the whole site is searchable and you can click on the name of the person you are looking for and it produces a tree showing all the related information known for that person - wife children siblings parents etc -

I posted this link on one thread and cross referenced all the threads to the one with the link

Astra is trying to tell me - i think - that "Laurie " posted all information "

Please some one explain to this trying so hard Numpty

You done it now Renes.
HID says yes,now to work on Bezzie and then look for cheap flights..
Oooeeerrr, what if we cant stand each other in "real" life?
Shakes in shoes...Oh well if we cant we can always get a hotel somewheres I guess.

Errm..we both smoke, come to think of it, the majority that gossip on here seem to though..
But at least it will be warmer standing outside there than here..
Its freezing here at the mo...Ice is forming on everything.

Thank you - my goodness - will someone write me out the checklist of things to look at before posting - never ever thought of clicking on posters name - then rechecking on an OPC site to see who has transcribed what and then - checking to see if they are one and the same -

In any case in one of her 3 thread Janey explains how to transcribe records - volunteer to help etc

Would have thought she would have known
