OOOhhh !! - It is SSSoooo frustrating !!!!!!!!!!

I only have a handful of names who I will not respond to on the threads, - either because they are 'nutters', are VERY rude and aggressive', or they are 'probable' paid researchers !!! - We all kinow the names.

Why is it that I see a thread and think - OOOhh, I can add this useful info on here - I click to check who it is and see it is 'one of them' so I cannot bring myself to get involved.

Loads of wasted info that I am longing to share !!!

GGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !

All better now !

How is everyone ??

Janey, although I've got two big mysteries I only posted the one - http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1236400

My reply to Jonesey was where he advised that until 1873 there was less emphasis on registration.

I think it's very odd that Robert went to a prestigious military musical academy whilst his brother Ernest was in a workhouse school at the same time.

Too late Jax! but I've got no intention of going back there!

good morning all!

thank you all for your words.

I'm quite certain that she does know, but just doesn't want to know the actual timeline

she's not stupid, she was a world expert in dental materials used in fillings and used to be invited to give lectures in the US and Europe ...... so I feel certain that she would have read up on glioma when it was first diagnosed, and understands it.

but she doesn't want to know the expert's opinion on how long she has left.

As her husband said, it is her feistiness that is helping to keep her going

I'm going to keep to our email contact .... it was about time for me to write to her. We've seemed to have fallen into approximately every 6 months one of us would write to the other, updating all that has happened.

I just have to make certain that there are no references to 3-6 months in there!

thanks again

There are wrong things one could say, Sylvia, but I don't think you'd actually be capable, so I wouldn't fret.

Dea -- living well is the best revenge. And fixing their wagons out of ... dare I say spite? I do it all the time. Not hoping it chokes 'em, of course!

MC -- you have an Ernest?? Where's AuntieSherlock anyway. Maybe not speak of the devil. She could spin this thread into orbit in a blink. You think *I* babble.

Anyway, we're the lost Ernest club. Believe it or not, we both have mystery gr-grfs named Ernest Hill. I've got mine done and dusted, of course, for the most part. She hasn't found hers anywhere before he hit Australia yet. And she keeps trying to horn in on mine. Well, we did recently find the older brother William Hill of mine who was a long shot for being the father William of hers, and it seems he wasn't ... but you never know ...

I did find her male occupant's Carter family for her, so I've taken vows on her Ernest. The upshot of the Carter quest, once a couple of generations back had been established, was that she got the male occupant's grandfather's birth certificate in the mail one day, and opened it to find:

Name: _____
Occupation: Circus Clown

I kid you not.

I remember that JC!

If you can believe it, I found these Community boards within a day or two of joining GR, and putting up the first names in my tree.

I read and watched for a couple more days, then posted my first request ............ soon realised that I could help find information, especially on ancestry.

So I was active on the boards within less than a month of joining GR

I used to spend hours on TTF in the days when you had to send pms to people because you couldn't reply on the thread ...... I dread to think how many pms some people would receive!

I however kept well away from General or Chat .......... I looked on there a couple of times, and there always seemed to be a war about to break out!!

It was only last year that I started to spend some time on General. Chat still makes me run away most nights!!

JC

I noticed the time change last night .......... was falling asleep over the keyboard a good hour before I normally do!

AND was washed, dressed and having my breakfast this morning a good hour earlier than usual

errrrrr............. maybe that was helped by the fact that OH got up at 5:50am ................. another major dental appointment at 8:0am

Janey, most likely redundancy.

I work for a government department and we have to cut our numbers by 50%, but I think I'll be OK for a while yet at least.

On the plus side, there's people worse off than us and we've got our health. Hubby is painter & decorator and there's always people need that doing.

Will have to curtail my shopping trips .... !

Add: Thanks, Dea!

I am SO glad that me and my OH have taken early retirement, for whatever reason !!!

At least we do not have to worry about these things.

We will never be 'rich' but at least we can survive !

Best wishes to everyone who is not in so good a position !!!
