Thanks Fanny, lol!! I think it might take me a while to find her as Smith although I can't moan as have had no common names like Jones, etc so far :))))

I think the reason why I can't find Caroline's siblings (apart from Maria Ann) on any census is because the spelling may have been transcribed incorrectly - that should make it fun to look for

Burniss spelling is on Find My Past.

I can not find Caroline on 1851 as Smith,nor the children under either name.

But good luck with following her forward as Smith..:))

Hi Astra

I have found some other children, siblings of Caroline - Henry (1826), Richard (1829), Mary (1818), Frances (1813), Charles (1815) and Maria Ann who is my great grandmother.

I have just tried to look for the 1841 census with the spelling of burniss but couldn't find it - can you tell me which site you found it on, as wanted to print the census for my records if poss

Hi

I am looking for someone on any census, not sure whether there surname is mispelt and perhaps this is why I cannot find them, her name is Caroline Burness (mum and dad are Jacob and Mary Burness) and have found her marriage cert to John Weston in 1842 but cannot find her under either name, Burness OR Weston

Any help would be great
