bit confushed with different spelling of siverns? severn? seems to come up quite alot any reason for this do you know? there seems alot of siverns in darlaston but several different spellings!

Lots of names in the 9th century were spelt differently on different occasions as a lot of people were illiterate and names were just written down as they were heard - which could be different with each different person recording the information. Spelling was not as standardized as it is today.
