I guess that if Thomas Thorne is shown as being born outside of Sussex on the 1841 census it would be impossible to trace him with just a year of birth and a profession, albeit plastering seems to have run through from father to son in the family.

Anthony,
When you find what you are looking for re Thorn... and you click on view record....
scroll right down to the end......... past all the family names....there is a source citation..those are the numbers .
I hope I have explained it alright.

THanks Vera.

Where do the numbers that one enters come from?? Re Elizabeth I guess a searxh of the PRs of HAstings between 1825 and 1841 might turn up a burial. But it won't help trace her origins though.

Vera

I haven't been able to find the census of Thomas Thorne so would appreciate a copy please

Anthony

Anthony Report 22 Jun 2010 21:09

If he was born outside the county of Sussex I guess this will be a non runner. In the absence of death records I doubt if i would beable to locate the death of elizabeth as well.

Anthony,
I am sorry, but not sure what you are after now. You have a copy of the 1841....is it the same one that I showed you with Elizabeth( his daughter) although on the 1841 it doesn't show relationships.

Checking on the image of the 1841 it states Thomas (the father) was not born in the county. Although sometimes as we know you have to take what is written with a large pinch of salt. :-))

Hi Vera

I posted this lady's details last week and got some advice that I could get no joy with.. I saw the Bishop's transcript and the last two letters of her name ae not clear, but with the help of reseachers at the PRO we came to an agreed conclusion that her name was Shellitoe.
