You need to obtain the death cert to see who the next of kin/ informant is to be sure it's the right person. |

hi, i think this must be just guess work on the census entry, i have come accross this a lot. Isabella was definitely a widow when she married my gr. grandad james mathers in 1885. and i have seen william gilmores burial record at whitehaven, that could even be wrong. |

If the Isabella Gilmore (nee Tear) shown on the 1881 census is correct, she was born in Ireland. |

Hi yea, thats all my family (my name is Mathers) I just cant find William (c1874) on any census, not in the uk anyway. I found a family of Gilmores on the isle of man, next door to a family of Tears (isabella gilmores maiden name) |

If young William was born 1874 he possibly arrived before the wedding of his parents. |

Hi, i came across his marriage in the local (workington cumbria) library. I already have my gr. grandmothers (isabella gilmore) family on my tree, but this looked as if she had a son i didnt know anything about. He gives my gr. grandmothers address in workington as his residence, his fathers name and occupation match as well. and one of his witnesses is margaret johnston, ( margaret jane gilmore married a johnston) He doesnt appear on any census with them.. in the uk any way. I have seen lots of gilmores in the isle of man, but havent found anything yet, even a family of Gilmores next door to a family of Tears, my gr. grandmothers maiden name??You can have access to my tree if it helps, Doreen |

i am trying to find any information on william walter gilmore, born 1874 or 1875, in whitehaven cumberland i think. he married isabella margaret corlett in workington cumberland in 1904. his father was william gilmore from the isle of man, a miner, (c1851-1882) who died in whitehaven. |
