if he came out of the Army on a pension then his Army records may be at Kew. i got my grandads Army record from there.and his brother 's too. Both joined up in the 1890.c and were in the later Boar War,
You could try the National Archives site to see if he is listed. I had to get mine though by going to Kew

can anyone please help
william henry crowther was born 15/7/1869
i have him on the 1871 and 81 censuswith his dad
he married alice harriet bourne1897 their first child was born 1899 then nan was born 1900
but i cant find him on the censuses for 91 and 01 cant find him till1911 with his wife alice daughter and son (first child died)
today i have been told he was in the boer war . my question is how do i find information on him there thank you zena


edited was told he was in the army perhaps boer war but dates dont match his father was hanged 1888 he isnt on census again till 1911 but he did all the above could he have been in another conflict before 1897
