new question help please
could he have been called up again for WW1 as a reservist or would he have been too old at 40ish as i think he is on the absent voters list in 1918

Hello Zena

Ive been looking at the census records for 10 Bond Street Nottingham, as far as i can see it was just a normal dwelling place, not a workhouse or childrens home.Just that the Sisters of Mercy were living there in 1891

Different familes living there in 1881, 1901 & 1911 no indication of that it was an institution of some kind

up date on this post
hi all i have gone back to the records and now think dea found my great grand father.
looking at the records of this william the dates could fit with the births of his children.
on checking the address 10 bond street nottingham in the1891 census there seen to be nuns there could any one tell me if it was a childrens home or workhouse. i did google but had no luck
new eyes would greatfully be received

thanks dea but i dont think this can be my william as he is in south africa untill 1902 my william had already had 2 children by then. and im not sure how long it took to get there and back back then but i would think they didnt come home for leave zena x

I can't work out National Archives site either.

I looked at the records on FindMyPast.

His records may appear on the Findmypast site when they upload documents for those discharged from the Army 1900-1913.
