I traced the wrong family

You need to get the marriage cert of William Marks and his wife Catherine to find out who their fathers were. We know William's father was a Daniel Marks because we have seen him on the census. We need to know who Catherine's father was. If Catherine married William in 1904 then both the children you are talking about were born before their marriage so would be Lewis's if Catherine Lewis is who he married. So you would look for births of Mary Maud Lewis and Alice May Lewis. Unfortunately there are quite a few Alice May's born around the same years and areas. Or Catherine could have been married before to a Lewis. |

when my mum has spoken about catherine she has always reffered to her as catherine lewis. |

all i know is that when i tended the family grave both dorothy and alice are named as marks so that is what started of this search as it indicated that 1 or maybe both of the them were unmarried. |

i came across the same problem mary wheni searched for william on the 1901 census i could not find him either. |
