Trying to trace my father's SCOTT family who lived in London areas of Great Ashfield, Herne Hill - Lambeth County.
Dad was Alfred William, he had brothers Leonard Walter (Len) Reuben Frederick (Fred) Edward George, John Ernest (Jack) and sister Gladys Minnie (Minnie).
My grandfather, Alfred Scott b 1885, (married Caroline Minnie Pearson) died feb 1919 in France on his way back from WW1.
My grandmother, father and siblings migrated to New Zealand in 1924.
My grandfather, Alfred b 1885, had siblings, Annie b 1873, William b 1876, Isaac b 1880, Eliza b 1882 - married Harry Young, Henry G b 1885, Maude b 1887 and Reuben b 1889 - all at Herne Hill London.
My great grandparents are Frederick Scott b c1846 Great Ashfield, d 1904, buried Tooting and Martha Eliza - nee Smith b 1857c, died 18/10/1907, buried Tooting.
Are there any decendants of my grandfather's siblings that could help with some further information about this family. I would love to make contact with any family members.

You've given two birthdates for Alfred - c1881 and c1885 - ? [edit - I think you edited the 1881 to 1885 as I was posting]
CWGC says:
Name: SCOTT, ALFRED Initials: A Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Gunner Regiment/Service: Royal Field Artillery Secondary Regiment: Royal Army Service Corps Secondary Unit Text: attd. 20th Mechanical Transport Coy. Age: 35 Date of Death: 26/02/1919 Service No: 234689 Additional information: Son of Fredrick and Martha Eliza Scott, of Lambeth; husband of Caroline Minnie Scott, of 48, Sellincourt Rd., Tooting, London. Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: I. F. 3. Cemetery: DOULLENS COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION No.2
http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=84013
So a dob of 1883 or early 1884 seems likely, if that age is accurate.
It is highly unlikely that any descendant will see your post.
Have you searched for names of these family members in trees here at GR?
How about for marriages of Alfred (Sr's) siblings, and births of their children, at FreeBMD?
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
Lots of helpful strangers reading your post may be able to help (especially with later vital records, which are not yet transcribed at FreeBMD but accessible via subscription at Ancestry). But you'd likely enjoy trying searches yourself at FreeBMD, if you haven't.
For instance: Eliza Scott 1882 married Harry Young. After 1911, mother's surname was included in the GRO index, so searching for Young births with mother Scott (unfortunately, probably not a unique combo, but the place can help) might find her children. [edit - when/where did they marry? - not seeing a marriage for those exact names at FreeBMD]

Thanks to you both for your information supplied. Have had trouble using this area, but help from Cynthia has got me back here to see your replies.
Thanks Janey with the help from 1911 census for the Youngs - finally. Saw them in the 1901 census staying with Eliza's parents. My Dad talked about Lil and Rose, so now your supplied the proof - thanks again.
With the "Scotts" I have details back through to the late 1700's, but I am really trying to find "live rellies", decendants of my grandfather's siblings. I have found moist of the families from the census, but there doesn't seem to be any "Scotts" doing their own trees, with current information. Some still could be in Lambeth country area. We lived there for four years about 15 years ago and felt that I could have rellies walking around that I wouldn't even know.
My father, siblings and his mother moved to NZ in 1924, and we have lost contact.
Anyway thanks again for help, very much appreciated.

Both of me? Or both me and Cynthia. ;)
The idea is that now you look at FreeBMD for the marriages of Lil and Rose -- I think they're among the people you're looking for -- and then for their children.
I just did the search for one sibling of Alfred Sr. There are lots left to do.
Somebody can do any of that for you, but you can do it and it's much more fun.
Once you have names, you can search trees here at GR, and once you're up to possibly living people, you can look on the electoral roll at www.192.com, etc.
For more recent births/marriages you'll need help if you don't have access to Ancestry, and there are two members here who can get details from the electoral roll. But you want to start it off yourself!

Hi again Janey, Sorry what I meant was thanks to you for the research and replies that you sent, especially the "Young" find. I have been looking for that for about three years, but without the 1911 census was finding it difficult. I have searched GR many times to see if they appeared in anyones trees, and was guessing about the real names and dob's of the daughters. I haven't had time since 1911 has been released to do any research.
Through printing all the Scotts etc of Lambeth for each of the census records I have then been able to put together most of the zigsaw. Yes I have had lots of fun. I had found my grandfather's war record and the whereabouts of the family. I have also found that at least two of the Scott brothers married two Smith sisters, and there is a possibly that the third brother and sister also married. It also looks like the sisters' only brother was married to my grandmother's aunt.
Cynthia emailed me directly and was also very helpful telling me how to get back to this area again. Didn't know how to find my way back without searching right through all the entries. She told me that there had been responses to my "thread". (another new terminology)
So thanks again.
Regards from a cold frosty NZ - it's bedtime
