This info about Alfred appears to fit. According to his birth certificate William George was his father and Sarah Ann Wadsworth was his mother.

Many thanks, I will keep on filling in the missing bits. It appears that Alfred might have reamarried following the death of his first wife Olive Sheldon, who may have died during childbirth. They had a daughter Olive but I'm unsure if they had any more children. Alfred's second wife I think might have been Doris O'connor and they might have had children.
