They had a son John Leslie Parkes 1909-1986,I can't find him in 1911 either.
Death of Clara was 26/5/1971.

hi, i am pretty sure she died in 1971 have fouund a death registered in clare maria chapman can only guess at thisstage that it is hers as far as i know both she and john william were born and died in birmingham

hi think the certificate is the right one so have ordered it fingers crossed think he was also born in 1888 and died in 1958 i found quite alot of information on john william but very little apart from the said marriage certificate on clara/claire

Based on your reply it sounds like the marriage cert Julie found could be the right one. Do you have it as it would give her father's name? Do you know when John William Parkes was born?

Did she die in Birmingham as the only death I can see in Birmingham in 1871 is this.

yes i am pretty sure on her birth year being right but my father is sure her name was clare but my great grandfathers name is definatly parkes although marriage cert says parker

Based on the 1911 census Fanny Homer married James Ridley in the 1904 marriage but can find no sign of a John and Clara Parkes or Parker in 1911

Have you tried a search on this site - Marriage is in name of Parker but Clara's death is registered in the surname of Parkes

Are you sure of your birth year you have for her & that she was 16 when she married

Have you her marriage cert, as that will give you her dads name
