Flick, the top of my request on 7th Aug was left over from my previous inquiry.

You may have told me that only 1911 had the number of children born, but you didn't actually tell me how many had been born and died.

I did tell you quite clearly what I was searching for on 30th August, I can't understand why you replied again when I clicked question answered on 31st.

Thank you very much for your help alviegal, now I know how many were born and survived. It may help me narrow it down a bit.

Flick,
I am not asking for the 1891 again. I am interested in the 1901 and 1911.

I am interested in John Davies who was 6 months old on the 1891.

I am trying to find out if he died and another son born later may have been named John. I have been contacted by a relative who has john born later on her tree and is sure he is the brother of my grandfather.

Basically all I wanted to know was does the census show how many children living and how many have died.

I hope I have made myself understood properly. I didn't think I was allowed a new thread for the same family.

Thank you for your interest Barbara

I ( and two other GR members) gave you the 1891 info in June LAST YEAR........why ask for it again?

ONLY the 1911 census records number of children born in a marriage

What are you actually trying to find out/prove?

Could someone please check 1891 census for me.
Albert Edward Davies 1884 b Newton Heath

His brother John is 6 months old

On the 1901 census John is 2 years too young and born in a different place. Is it listed on the census if a child has died. i know sometimes a name is reused from a deceased child, is that possible here.

Many thanks to anyone who could check this for me.

This an extra inquiry about this family

You'll need George and Ellen's marriage cert to go further back.

Thanks Flick and Rutlandbelle I thought it too convenient to find a ready made brother. All the information you have given me is very useful. Any ideas for the next generation back.

Rutlandbelle, is it possible that George B davies could be John's brother. I have no information about John as to his parents and siblings. I know a lot of miners lived close to their families.

Barbara it's because we are bored with our own tree and the weather outside is not very good for either gardening or walking!
