Seems pretty likely, doesn't it? Great of all of you to go to so much trouble. |

Thanks Kath and Ginny. You're right-I didnt get it! If it is him, he died before my mother did and she never mentioned it if in fact she knew. Might just be worth sending for the cert. Do English certs show the parents for 1975? Thanks. |

I don't think Ginny is saying that the name IS Chaples - just that the "r" in Charles has been mistranscribed for a "p", and the second middle initial mistranscribed too. |

No, I'm not ruling it out but if my Mum's brother was called Chaples, knowing her(now dec.), she would have had a smart comment about it! Yes, to the 2 middle names-my daughter and her daughter answer to three given names! |

Many thanks indeed. Sorry, I've been a bit tardy. The process seems to have changed since I last made an enquiry. Your input is very welcome and I am still wondering if my uncle died and when, where. |

My Uncle Cliff Bygrave married Fanny Lockley in 1945 at Shropshire. I cannot find the two or more children I believe he had. Could someone please help and also if he has died, where and when? It is possible that he left England for another commonwealth country but it wasn't New Zealand. He was the son of George William and Jessie Ann Bygrave, London. |
