Ethel married in1912 to william smith. She's dwon on the certificate as living in rotherham, just wondered who she was living with? My Hobsons where living at Jericho St in 1901

Thanks Elaine - hen is fine if we can work out which neighbour is belongs to! Sadly they have a desire to roam and ours used to regularly visit neighbours before we clipped one wing. It's the grass is greener syndrome! ( We live in the middle of Herefordshire on a smallholding)

Elaine,
I don't think that dashing out to rescue a hen took K's mind off the family name.
A lot of young women "in service" had their names rather "mangled" by their employers. That Ethel was the closest I saw as well. Might not be her,obviously.
