Thank you. We don't want to get in to contact with them, my mum and aunt just want to know about their heritage. Neither of them have seen their mother since they were very young and so don't feel the need to meet them.
Thank you again.

I would be a bit cautious kerri cos even if this was Doris and she did marry and have other children she may not have disclosed to her new family that she had had previous children, Any contact with them may well be met with a not our mum reply,

Hi
I would say that she was living with Patrick Shaw and for propriety sake they registered the birth as if they were married ,not unknown to do that,
So to find her she may be listed as Doris Gullett or Shaw or even remarried and is another surname.
Will take another look

i have finally received my aunts birth certificate. the certificate says that in 1951 doris was known as doris gullett and married to thomas gullett, they were living at waefoles road, woodford, essex and thomas was an assistant at a bakers on black friars road, southwark, london.
How ever on my mothers birth certificate in 1953, it says that doris is known as doris shaw and married to patrick shaw (as i said before), and they were living at d'arcy buildings in hackney.
Im not sure whats going on here, if anyone can help further it would be very much appriciated as i would like to have some information to give to my aunt about her family before she passes away.

My mother and her sister were put in to care so i have only the information found on the birth certificate for my mother (my aunt has lost hers). On my mothers birth certificate it says Doris Beatrice Shaw formerly todd and then the address they where they were living at the time. So i assume they was married.

the marriage cert to Patrick Shaw would give her age & hopefully her fathers name

EDIT: theres no marriage listed to Patrick Shaw

the child born in 1951 was reg as Gullett do you have the cert?

I am trying to find out about my grandmother Doris Beatrice Todd. I don't know when or where she was born. The only information i have is that she was in a relationship with a david gullett and had a daughter with him who was born in lambeth, london in april 1951 and then married a man named patrick shaw and had a daughter in may 1953 with him who was born in hackney, london. Both were put in to care at a young age so we have no information on any of the parents. patrick was a wood machinest..Any help or advise would be much apprieciated.
