I used this site but confirmed it on ancestry by putting the details in

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

If you use ancestry if you put the fathers surname in and the mothers on the birth search you sometimes get them all but I find it hit and miss sometimes

Hi
Thank you.
Do you know how to search for children? I am not asking anyone to do it for me, I am enjoying searching, I just don't know where to start.

I would think the 1900 birth is right my grandmother was born in november 1907 but census says 1908 as the census was taken in mar/april I have found one birth for clark/Allan 1934 so I will pm it to you

Thankks to everyone who helped me. You did find the right Annie Clark. The birth certificate took some getting.
Can I be cheeky and ask for your help with her brother James Clark. According to the census his birth year was 1901, but the only one I can find in Skipton is a/m/j 1900.
I have found a marriage in 1926 to a Maggie Allan which is a possible.
My question is how do I go about finding their children, I don't know where to start.
All help is really appreciated
Tom

HI
That is the transcript I bought and have been working on. Whether these are the right Clarks or not I can't tell. I will order the birth certificate tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed.
I have been working on the assumption that this is the right one and am trying to trace Ada, Ida and James.
Regards
Tom

In response to Jax
I found an Alice Young born in Ulverston c1873. She married a Thomas Clark in Skipton. According to the census she was living in Skipton with her sister Elizabeth Upton in 1891.
I just can't be sure at the moment that the Thomas Clark she married is the father of Annie.

I want to say a big thank you for all your help. I intend to keep searching and hope to visit the church to see if the parish records can help.
The witnesses at the wedding were Fred Stell and James Clark.
The heir hunters wanted 25% to tell us whose estate it is and how much.
I found the who but not the how much.Honestly don't really care, but think the Clarks deserve whatever there is more than a heir hunter.
Thank you again
Regards
Tom

Its going to be difficult to prove. If Heir Hunters have been on the case and havnt found details with their knowledge then that might be it Im afraid.

It would be interesting to see if the Stell family are neighbours to Clarks in Skipton on the 1911 census

Jax.
Go to advanced search and put Annie Clark . It comes up with all Thomas threads on the subject

Witness from previous thread Fred Stell James Clark

There is Fred Stell 1908 living Skipton in 1911
Also Fred Stell living Keighley

poss annies birth

Name: Annie Clark
Year of Registration: 1911
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Skipton
County: Yorkshire - West Riding
Volume: 9a
Page: 41 (click to see others on page)

which will give her mothers maiden name

Name: Annie Kilburn
Birth Date: 22 May 1911
Death Registration Month/Year: 1982
Registration district: Keighley
Inferred County: Yorkshire West Riding
Volume: 4
Page: 0598

What Im thinking is if you knew her mothers maiden name, you could then find the marriage and the 1911 census says how long they have been married so process of elimination

jax

jax Report 16 May 2010 01:57

who are the witnesses on the marriage cert?

Could you give more details on Annies parents that you know apart from her fathers name on the marriage cert where did you get her mothers name from?

jax

jax Report 16 May 2010 01:46

pm sent marriage and birth of a child

Having sent the pm I have notice he had died in 1998 but cannot see a marriage so I am assuming there are no grandchildren of annie

Edmund died in 1986 and Annie 1982? so the son outlived them

Thomas

Thomas Report 16 May 2010 00:43

Thank you so much.
I think she died in1982 but can't be sure of that either. I am NOT a heir hunter or or in any way connected to people who search for intestate heirs professionally. However I know that if there are any living relatives of Annie Clark they may possibly in line to inherit some money.
I know this because I am one of them and am looking for as many more of them as I can find.
Seriously the more the merrier.Money is nothing family everything.

Help please I am really struggling.
Annie was born 1911, she was married in Bingley to Edmund Kilburn in October 1936. According to her marriage cert her father was Thomas Clark retired.
I thought from previous pleas for help her father was originally from Lincoln and her Mother from Ulverston. However there appears to be two Thomas Clarks on the 1911 census in Yorkshire both married to an Alice. one born 1966 in Skipton the other born in 1967 in Lincoln. How do I work out who Annies parents were?
Thank you Tom
