The only people in the Scottish censuses who show with birthplace Greengairs are a family living in New Monkland in one census. So it must be close by.

So the person GB has found -- who would be the birth Ann of GG posted with parents Alexander and Agnes -- looks like a good bet. But you *need* her marriage certificate info.

You said she was born about 1850, and I (and I am sure several other people)have been looking for any trace of such a person.

Now you say that the Rebecca Brunton born about 1865 could be her? That's a whopping big difference. What made you say 1850?

Why don't you just go to www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, but the minimum credits, and find her marriage, and then view the record to see who her parents were? It should say how old she was, too. *Then* it might be possible to find her in the censuses.

Assuming and hoping you're right about who she married!

If you are sure about that -- do you know the names / birthdate of any of her children? That way, it would likely be possible to find her in 1901 at least with her husband and children, to see what it says about when and where she was born.
