Yes I have the info here in fact last week I visited Rainford church graveyard and found the head stones Janie died 15-10-68 and she was 72 Thomas died 8-1-65 age 76 Having this info set me off again to trace theheir history too.

Thanks Sue, I did'nt know any of this info so its great to see. Just noticed that one of the children is named Emma, which I didnt know. We called our youngest Emma too, history repeating it self with out us knowing thanks

In her post Eileen put Janie's birth year as 1890. I am struggling to find an appropriate one in the 1891,1901 and 1911 census returns so maybe your 1897 is right. She would have been old enough to marry in 1917.

Eileen, any idea when and where your grandmother died? If after 1964 then an indication of her birthdate should appear on the death register.

Im'e just smiling to my self if that marriage date is correct, they only just made it up the isle before my mum Kate was born on 11-7-1917- "well I never" lol

Hello all you good people, could I please have some help with tracing my maternal grandmothers side of the family. I have exhausted myself and GR members too I expect, trying to find my Dads family. So I thought I would try to find my mums family now. How hard can it be!!!!
I think Janie's maiden name was Lathom and likely born in Rainford Lancashire, she married Thomas Robinson and they had children Jack,Joan, Katie, Alice Brenda, Thomas. They lived in a place called Crank, nr Rainford. Lancashire. I don't know much about the Lathom family, so it would be great to find out where they lived what they did for a living, and what children they had.
