Alice Ruby McPherson-Smith born in Fitzroy?
1st hus. Thomas Edgar Dewillock George
all the children are Georges married Fred in late 40's early 50's, before that she was his housekeeper.
2nd hus. Frederick Bayliss

her 1st daughter was my grandmother
Alice Ivy Lillie born De Laney/ DeLaney 26/4/1911
she married 2 brothers

she had 6 more girls and 1 boy, I will add the girls married names to their name

Yes my nana Alice Ivy Lillie was married to Stanley Rupert Charles ( De Laney) one word.
So it was in 1934, that was the year my mum was born.

If not you may be interested to know that there are a few articles in there on the Wheelock's including the death of Thomas Edgar De Wheelock George's accident (Note that this name is spelt differently to that in your first posting of Dewillock)

DEATHS

GEORGE – On the 10th February (result motor accident) Thomas Edgar De Wheelock George of 15 Mell Street, Toorak and late of Oakleigh, loving father of Ivy, Dulcie, Laura, Eva, Josie and Gwen, and beloved brother of H.H and E.F (of Bass), G.G. (Grantville) and Sis. (Mrs Harding, Heywood) aged 52 years.

FUNERAL NOTICE

George – The Friends of the late Mr Thomas Edgar De Wheelock George, of 15 Mell Street, Toorak, are informed that his remains will be interred in the necropolis, Springvale.

Hi Debbie, no problems.

Just a tip when you are searching the library database, if you eventually run out of people's names to search for, perform a search using any house and street names that you have recorded. It is often interesting what happened at older homes over the years, remembering that mny births and deaths were at home, and a lot of burials would depart from the deceased's residence.

It is a great site very useful for looking up people, information about ships that people arrived in, court cases, anything! Given that it has newspapers all over Australia I have found it invaluable.
