On the Scotland 1871 census there are 34 William Gibsons born 1861 +/- 1 year, so we need more information. |

Hi Helen ,this sounds like a good match, as flora's middle name was Mcmillan & the middle name has been passed down thro the generations evev to my son , but we never knew where it came from, so a hugh big thank you, & now i can let my mum know ,, once again THANX Claire |

Claire, a lot of Scottish families would take the mother's maiden name and use it as a middle name. So you could get a variety of surnames as middle names in the same family, from mother, grandmothers etc. |
