You are way in front of me, when was Charlotte baptised, who is Genvieve? Mary must be somewhere, I thought that my be she had died because on the 1891 census Charlotte reverts back to Mottram, or maybe she got married again but I would have thought if is she was alive after 1887 ( when Samual remarried), then i think she may have come back with Charlotte to her roots which is Bickerton. Thanks for your info really helpful.

I still can`t find Mary either!
Remember when her Daughter was Baptised at Bickerton,she was given the name Elina![not Charlotte]
Her niece Genevieve is called Jane or Jenny as well!

I have in front of me a print out of the 1881 census for Mary Ackerley, spouse's name James which is incorrect, i have their marriage certificate for Mary and Samual dated 1872. The children are listed Charlotte Ackerley 8, , Jane Ackerley 4, Samual Ackerley 7, and Henry Perkins 18.

The son is James, the spouse is Samual. The names have been listed incorrectly.

The marriage for Catherine Lea is to Samuel Ackerley,so why if he is born Samuel 1873 and married as Samuel, 1891 and 1911 as Samuel,why on earth did he change it to James.

And on his childrens marriage certificates he is Samuel.

1881 census is Samual who married Mary Mottram my g granny, they had a son named James 1873 who married Catherine Lea. A Daughter Jane and Charlotte all living in Soho, Handsworth, staffs

Samual had brothers one named John born 1838/39 but some census are different birth years!!

We have found some graves in Bickerton Church Yard but not Mary, I just can't find her.

Yes this is my g grandmothers son James, I am still looking for Mary, we have found some graves in Bickerton Church yard but not one for Mary as yet.

I'am finding this a little difficult.

1881 you say James is Samuel born 1850 and they had son James 1873 not Samuel as stated.
There is no birth for James 1873 but there is a Samuel Smethwick Staffs.

1891 The Samuel son 1873 is living next door but one to his Uncle John brother of his dad Samuel.

1861 William Ackerley born 1813 Bickerton
Mary 1809 Duckington
JOHN 1838 on 1891 census with different birth year but on previuos census it is @ 1838/9 He married Martha White.
Ann 1840
SAMUEL Bickerton 1850 who married Mary Mottram.
Is the above the correct family.

Sorry for all the quiestions but just need to get my head round your info.

I think they went with Mary but I can't find Mary. I found James who married Catherine Lea, Samual was his father, the names are mixed up. John 1838 is Samual's brother, John born 1843 could be a cousin, but I will check it out or just another error on the census. I cannot find Jane.

So where did James 1873 and Jane 1877 go?
As they are not with Samuel in 1891.

Cannot find a birth for James 1873/4 in Smethwick but there is Samuel 1873 Smethwick he married Catherine lea in 1895.
1891 North Farm Sutton Cheshire farm servant next door but one to John Ackerley born Bickerton 1843?
This could be Samuel 1850's brother John born 1838.

I will try again,Samuel married again in 1887 to the Sarah he is with in 1891.He died 1897.

The 1881 census Samual and Mary were married, James was their son. I have all of this info, except Mary's death. Mary was alive on the 1881, this is not my Mary who died in 1877. I have searched everyway I can, I even asked Cheshire records and they told me was no record for Mary. I traced Samual back to Crewe. Thank you for your help.

Info off Ancestry tree.
Charlotte born to Mary Mottram 14/7/1872.
Mary married Samuel 20/8/1872.
Mary died in Crewe Cheshire 1877 Samuel remarried 1878 he died 1897.
Charlotte died west Derby Lancs 1916.

The second wife of Samuel married William Henry Heath and had daughter Margaret Heath 1901.

They have the names wrong on the 1881 census Samual is Mary's husband and James is their son. Samual and Mary are my ggrandparents, Charlotte Ackerley is my grandmother. On the 1891 census Charlotte reverts back to Mottram, her mothers maiden name, 1891 census Samual is with Sarah Lucy Owen, Mary either dies, remarries or changes her name, I cannot find what happened to her,

Yes these are my ggrandparents, on the 1881 censors they were living at Park Farm, Handsworth. 1891 censors shows Samual with Sarah Lucy Owen either Mary died or remarried or changed her name and went back to live in Cheshire where her daughter Charlotte was, I cannot trace her at all.
