Member Since: October 2008 Posts: 39 Send Message	I am trying to find my greatgrandmothers family her name was Edith Charlottee natalie steffano de varzoppola. She was born in 1873 and she was from a greek family so may have been born in Greece . I think she lived in Cardiff. She was about 25 when she married George Wade born 1840 and died 1911. After his death she married a mr Ford and they lived in Port Talbot.

	Hi Hazel, This name really puzzled me for a while. Steffano is a Greek name, so is Varsopollo (Varsopolos for a man and Varsopoulou for a woman). The de Varzoppola part is not Greek so maybe it was mis transcribed. Happy research. Sharon

	Hazel, It is a bit confusing, the 1891 census that Helen has posted seems to be the correct one in my opinion in regards to the surname. Steffano is also a surname and it is rare in Greece for people to have middle names or double surnames. Maybe Staffano is the mothers maiden name. Sharon.
