Our Jane Warrell was born in Harrow on the Hill. The family moved around that area and into Bucks. Most of the family seemed to originate in Chesham, where she settled, becoming the 2nd wife of William Child & my Gt Grandmother. Her antecedents were apparently paper millers, producing the first of the machine-made paper. There is a photo on the Chesham Museum site, in their final unidentified section (I have sent them the information), of William Child outside the shop in High St, Chesham. he mended shoes out the back & Jane ran the Grocery business. |
