Look at my first reply to you thread and buy some credits for Scotlandspeople.

When you get your Granparents marriage certificate, it will tell you their ages and who their parents were. You then look for the birth certificates. The birth certificate (if they were born in Scotland) will tell you the date and place of their parents marriage.

Statutory registration began in Scotland in 1855, prior to that births and marriages may be found in the Old Parish Records - also available on Scotlandspeople. These records are predominately Church of Scotland Records so you may not find your family there if the belonged to a different church.

If you need census lookups (although the Scottish ones are available on Scotlandspeople but you need to use credits) post details on here as you find them and I am sure that someone with a subscription to Ancestry or some such site will have a look for you (as Cathy has already done for you by looking up the 1901 census)

You need to look on http://scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Credits cost £6 for 30 - 1 credit to view search results and 5 to view / download register entry.

Births after 1909, marriages 1934 and deaths after 1959 are not available to view online you need to order copies of the certificates for these.

Your parent's birth certificate will give you the date and place of your grandmother's marriage to Gilbert. Their marriage certificate will give you their ages and parents' names and you can then look for their births.
