Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me find the Wolstenholme family in the 61 census.

Also looking for Joseph's wife Ellen Jane Brooks, father John Brooks a weaver from Manchester prior to their marriage in 1864. Ellen was born c1842.
Ellen married William Kirkbride after Josephs death and I cant seem to find them in the 91,01 and 11 census, this is what I have for the 81:

census 1881, age 39, wife, living in different location to husband william kirkbride, married, daughter Ellen surname changed to kirkbride from wolstenholme. Langley Rd?, Macclesfield, sub district Sutton, cotton weaver, born manchester, children Henrietta Wolstenholme age 15 cotton weaver, ellen kirkbride (was wolstenholme) age 10 scholar, william kirkbride age 8 scholar born Manchester, margaret kirkbride age 2, born Chester, sub Sutton.

Patricia, re 71 census, Ellen did go on to remarry after Joseph's death, she married a William KirkBRIDE and had a stepson George, it must be them just with a diff spelling as you say.

Mary yes that could be his death in 1870, they had 4 children that I am aware of, Eliza my gt gt grandmother, Henrietta, Joseph and Ellen, all born between 1865 and 1870. As his wife Ellen was a widow in 71, he must have died shortly after Ellen's birth in 1870.

So if they had Ellen 1870 was this Joseph's death 1870 Chorlton Lancs.
There was birth for Joseph 1838 Chorlton.

Are the witnesses any help?

There are Josephs with father Josephs in 1861 but they are in the cotton trade.
All bar one is in the Lancs area.
