I have just started on a new family with the minimum of info given but what I have found is

From the G.R. single line census I have found
Winkley Richard 1889 Dunham Massey Altrincham, Altrincham

Hardy Louisa 1887 Partington Lymm, Altrincham

These both match the detail on them from 1911 so I would be most grateful to see the full 1891 census for both parties, which will I hope enable me to trace their families back.

I am having difficulty finding a marriage for John Hardy and Annie as seen in the 1891 census that Jan kindly found for me. The most likely seems to be

In the 1891 census does Annie say she comes from Congleton please?

In the 91 census Annie says born Partington, John, Carrington, Cheshire, first child James, Warrington, Lancashire, other 3, Partington.

I wonder if this might be John in 1881 even though spelled Hardey?

Thank you Margaret, sorry for my tardiness but I had a hospital apt to keep!

The 1881 was eluding me but I hadn't reached the point of trying other spellings.
I am still having a problem finding a birth in FreeBMD for the first child Alice Hannah. Was she also born Warrington, like James or did they start somewhere entirely different? Is Alice Hannah shown as a daughter in 1891. If the 1882 marriage is the correct one then Alice Hannah could have been registered under her mothers maiden name.......

I will now try and match Ann Yates with Partington....
