Find Ancestors

Please help, for some reason Gene's have not been about to transcribe the surname Tomkinson correctly on a number of years which has resulted in me being unable to to find the above male and his family. Does anybody have access to another version of 1841 census other than Genes who will be able to look this man up for me please. He would be 21 give or take 6 years living in Birmingham, aston I beleive. Thanks Andrea

Thank you for this information but I am looking for Ebenezer Tomkinson Genes cut my title short!

The actual image does show 'Tomkins' but the enumerator has run out of space on the record. So it could well be Tomkinson

I think they rounded down the ages on the 41 census to the nearest '5' so he could be older than it states

I think he is a 'glass cutter' but its not that clear to read

What other info do you have on him?

I know in the 1851 Census he was a Gun Stocker. Living in Buckingham Street, Birmingham

Wife recorded as Caroline but have not found a marriage yet but they could have married before civil registration as the eldest son George was 11 in the 1851 census.

He died in April 1868 at the age of 49 in New Summer Street Birmingham

Thanks for the marriage details when you count the number of people there is either one person too many or one person not enough so maybe this is my Caroline, I might just have to order the certificate.

Kings Norton is not that far from Birmingham approx 5 - 10 miles but I am not sure which areas this actually covers?
