yes Christina its very frustrating......I `ve seen many a person on here say they find what they`re looking for on the 1911 site as the search is so much better, then go to FMP to view the result, because thats who they have their sub with........

That 4 Virginaia Place must be there somewhere on FMP.....but i could`nt find it.

Sorry for not replying sooner, had visitors who've just left.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's William and James in 1911, however, don't think that's George. He was born in Birmingham according to 1901 and I've found him, still single living in Putney, working as a Hospital Porter.

Alice is definitely not at Virginia Place, I've checked the images by bringing up number 5 and looking at the previous and next images.

She's proving quite the puzzle isn't she?

Sorry, I had no idea that it was a different search engine for the 1911 on findmypast. How frustrating is that! I'm glad I've not purchased a sub now and I'll stick to buying credits as and when I can afford them.

The Nicholls family where living at 4 Virginia Place

if you PM me your email address I can send you the List image

Alternatively, look at at either of the numbers that come up in the address search, view the image and then click on List from the options at the top above the actual census image

Christina...Just tried your method of searching to find 4 Virginia place in 1911 and like Joy can only get up Nos. 5 and 14.......

I can only access through Findmypast as I have a sub with them and not just exclusively to the 1911 site...... I wonder if thats why we`re getting different search results?....as everyone says the search engine on 1911 is much better than through FMP...

I don't have credits to view, but numbers 1 through 18 Virginia Place are listed in 1911.

The only difference I can see is that Notting Hill is listed as all one word for no's 5 & 14, but two words for all the others.

If you search for just Virginia under 'Street' and Kensington under 'Residential Place' they come up.

Edit: I don't know the area so I'm assuming it is in Notting Hill?

That's the one Pam

Thanks for the offer of the image Irene. I already have it.

I'm assuming that he died at 4 Virginia Place, where the family's living in 1901. Have tried search that address on 1911, but only Numbers 5 and 14 come up.

Alice Walton Farren married Joseph Douglas in Notting Hill, 1871. Joseph died in 1904. I can't find a death/re-marriage for Alice between 1901/1911 nor can I locate her on 1911 Census. I'm going nuts trying.....Help!
