I think that Ellen 1887, Emily 1888, Maud 1889 and Frederick Merrill 1891 will all be Ada, Esther and franks half siblings as their mother married Walter Merrill in 1884

By the way, I had another look and it says PB by the side of the entry.

The one above also says PB (died). Not sure what the PB stands for. Perhaps she died too, although I can't see a death for her.


EDIT: Just Googled and it means Private Baptism and was given when the child was not expected to live

Thank you Barbara, I have already come across these two census returns and there's no sign of Esther!. That's why I was so surprised to come across her in the Birth and Baptisms. I haven't been able to find a death for Esther either.

Its the only one that I can't really decipher. It is definitely November 1876. Baptism was the 26th November and it looks like '1876 Nov' and then it looks like a single figure - actually looks like a small 'h'!

I would have thought it should have been registered OND quarter of 1876, but I can't find anything at all resembling 'Manser' or 'Esther'.

When did James and Emily marry?

I'm hoping someone can look up for me, Esther Manser on ancestry in Births & Baptisms 1813-1902

I came across her while trying to find a birth entry for my great gandmother Ada Manser who was born abt. 1881 in Shoreditch. I was unable to find an entry for her but came across Esther Manser, who I believe is Ada's sister.
There is also a brother Frank b 1878.

There doesn't seem to be an entry for Esther or Ada in the FreeBMD births index , but Esther does appear in the baptisms and her parents are named as James and Emily.

Unfortunately I only have an Essentials subscriptions, which doesn't cover the the baptism registers.

It would be great to have all the info shown in this entry.
