Thank you so very much. What a mine of information.
According to my records Donald was born about 1845 and his wife, Barbara Iverach 8th July 1849. Both in Harpsdale, Caithness.
They were married 15th Jan 1875.
Their daughter,(another Barbara) was my grandmother.
My Uncle (another Donald) has their marriage certificate.
Once again thankyou.I'm sure I'd never have found info. on Andrew and Christian/a on my own.

Can't help personally, but might be an idea to put "Scotland" in your heading - there are members here who are more able to advise and this will catch their eye. I have a feeling you have to access a site called Scotlands People - I don't think there is an equivalent free site like the England and Wales freebmd.

Andrew Sutherland was married to Christine/a McKay They were my gt.gt. grandparents but I don't know where they were born or married . Can anyone help please?
They had a son DONALD who married BARBARA IVERACH 15 Jan 1875 at St.Giles parish Church Edinburgh,but they were both from Harpsdale, Caithness. Barbara died in 1890 shortly after giving birth to her 7th child, Barbara (named for her mother) Sutherland.
