hi my grt grt grandfather was joseph barnes born manchester 1869 lived at aqueduct street his wife was ellen but i am trying to find out her name before marriage and where she came from also my joe is down as a railway shunter but then i cant find him in 1901 census although he was still alive |

another possible marrige i was looking at this one as there 1st child annie was born c1890 but did they marry befor or after annie was born ?? the only way for certain is for you to send for one of the childrens birth cert that will confim who is the right bride |

Just to let you know I looked on Lancsbmd and it appears Ellen Kenyon had been either married twice or they couldn't read her name properly to transcribe, I would go with twice married though as the surnames are completely different. |

the Ellen kenyon/Colthurst marriage was for 20 years - not such a short one! So I would imagine that rules out that one as the Ellen you are looking for |

If you get a childs birth cert this would give you mothers maiden name. |
