Well, a tree search turns up a Joe'y Isley in your tree ... born 1920 ............................. IN INDONESIA.


So, how many of us wasted how much of our time because you neglected to mention that little fact??

Joe'y isn't a name, Joey is a nickname for Joseph, and Joe may be a name but is usually a nickname for Joseph.

From 1916 onward there is one Joseph Isley marriage, 1917 in Yorkshire. And there is one Joseph Isley death, 1946 (aged 61) in Yorkshire. No Joseph Isley birth.

Obviously, John, you know a little more than this. When was "Joe'y Isley" born, who was his mother, etc.?

Is the question that there was no father declared on his birth certificate? or marriage certificate? If that's the case, you may have hit the wall that many of us hit, although we hope to hit it farther back than the 20th century.

There doesn't seem to be a birth of a Joseph Isley whose father would now be about 90, i.e. born c1920.
