can any one help with a marriage date for a William Warman born 1827 .
ive found him on the 1911 census age 83 married to a Emily age 77 for 42 years.
but cant seem to find them in the marriage records.

Doing a quick bit of maths, is that around 1869? No marriage in that year as you say, but quite a few otherwise. Do you have them in any census reports? They might be mistaken, never married or married some time after they got together.

thank you all so much for the info, will now send for the marriage certificate.
so greatful also for Emilys maiden name opens up another branch to my tree.
i only found out about William the end of last year, when i got a lady at the Guernsey records to look up a marriage for his parents Robert and Charlotte .
no marriage could be found but she did find another child William.
i new about the other 4 children George, Elizabeth, Thomas and Samuel but had no ide about William.
such a buzz, cant tell you how much i enjoy doing my mus side of the tree

just to bring you up to date on the marriage for William Warman, i sent for the certificate for William and Emily January 28th 1869.
which arrived this morning but it wasnt my William , fathers name also William but it should have been Robert Warman so back to square one.

Was the wife Emily though? I wouldn't dismiss it just yet. Do you have occupation for father and William, and witnesses?

May I ask how you know his father was Robert.

i have Williams baptisum papers and his parents are Robert and Charlotte Warman.
Robert died 1890 and Charlotte 1887 both in Essex.
on the marrige certificate for william its down as father William Warman a grocer.
cant make out Williams profession but he was 46 at the age of the marriage and Emily was 36.
no profession for the witnesses .

If everything but the father's 1st name matches I strongly suspect this is the right marriage. The groom's age is even correct.
You won't get professions of the witnesses - asked for their names!!
