I was wondering if i may please ask for some help in trying to find Annie Agnes Magdaline Ingram born 1880 in Shoreditch Middlesex, i found her birth on BMD but i cannot find her on any census!!! i do no she married a Charles Norris in 1902 and her father was Harry Ingam but anything before that i am at a loss.

You need to buy that birth certificate that you found ...... this would give you her mother's name and maiden name, and confirm that harry Ingram was indeed her father.

If you are basing your statement that that is her father solely on the marriage certificate, you do need to be aware that it is not unknown for illegetimate chilfren to make up the name of the father. The name could also be Henry Ingram.


I did find this Annie Ingram b. ca 1880 on the 1881 Census ..... and wonder if she could be yours?? Basically she is being fostered or raised by the Phillips

Hi Ginny, Yes i see that one on the 1881 census but i do know that was not her!! Her name was Annie Agnes Magdaline Ingram as i have found the marriage of her to Charles Norris in 1902, Also i did she that other census about the Nurse Child but again with that i do not feel it is her.

I do not know why i feel that the Nurse Child is not her {I know you should go down every road} but i just have a feeling that this is not her!! but i will now try and see if it just may have been her.

So looking at this that first census is not your Annies family!

Yes Sylvia that is the marriage, and it all checks out to be right with Charles Norris father being John Joshua Norris, Ann

What I was interested in on that marriage was that Annie's father Harry was down as deceased, but his occupation was noted as Chef

IF he was real, then Chef or Cook would be a clue in finding him

I also noted that Annie was down as having an occupation, Cook ...... which could mean that she could be found on the 1901 Census as possibly a Domestic Servant.

This could possibly bear some investigation, even though the age is a little wrong

I went looking for Agnes Ingram, and this popped up .............. ancestry transcribers have combined 2 households into one!

I've looked at Baptisms for London, and she doesn't seem to have been baptised, at least not in London or not in one of the parishes that has been transcribed!

Sylvia i did see a Aggie Ingram on the 1901 census born 1880 London living in Middlesex in 1901!! do you know what it has said as i have now run out of credits, sorry to be such a pain in the you no what!!!!!
