I am trying to find the parents of John Trott born 1831 in membury devon he married Sarah Goldsworthy but not all together sure which they married.

Dear freinds

I seem to be asking alot of questions of late it must be that I been off the site for so long so will you forgive me if I ask another question or rather your help. I have a marriage that was given to me some time ago regarding John Trott and Sarah Goldsworthy that was given to me sometime ago on this thread as 1854. However I have a son listed for them prior to their wedding called William Trott born 1850c. It could be that I have the birth of william dated wrongly. Is anyone able to help me at all. thanks for your time

It seems from a tree on Ancestry that they may have had a John Goldsworthy before they married born in 1849 or at least Sarah did. I think John would have been about 15 then so maybe not his???????????

Hi there thank you for your help. I just to make sure that I anot causing confusion. John trott born 1831 married Sarah goldsworthy 1854, but there seems to be a pre existing child william trott born 1850 approx. could they have had this child out of wedlock or did he belong to either one of them from a previous marriage do you think.

Sorry for this but it doesnt tale long to cunfuse me today.

Michael, we can't imagine why you are insisting there is a child called William Trott born 1850. All three census records posted have him born c 1855, after the parents' marriage.

The only question mark is over the child John Goldsworthy b 1849.

I am concerned that you are looking for a William Trott without having any proof of his parents.

Can you tell us where you have got your information re William Trott b c 1850 from?
