My g grandmother was Ellen nee Pearce married to Henry Dormer. In March 1874 they were living at 37 Silchester Road, Kensington. By 1876 Ellen was in the workhouse with her three children. I have a letter written to her on Jan 3rd 1876 when she was in the workhouse with her three children by her Grandparents. It is signed , 'Your affectionate grandfather and Grandmother, I. E. Nurse.' At the time the address of the gparents was 28 Brindley Street, Harrow Road. I take it from this that Nurse was their surname. How do I find out which workhouse this was so I can check the records? |
