I would love to make contact with any of my long lost Chapmans.they would be descendants of John Squire Chapman and his wife Fanny (nee Cooper )both born 1833 in Tealby Lincs. John was a blacksmith and local methodist preacher. They moved to Owmby, and eventually to Gainsborough. They had 13 children - Thomas j. / sarah/ harry/ mary ann /jessie / alice ann / betsy / charles / harriet / fanny / john w. / lizzie / & rose ann , and I am a descendant of their son Thomas James. My branch of the family seem to have lost touch with the any lincs relations, because of Thomas early death, and his widow forced into moving areas to find work, we ended up on the other side of england. As my father was an only child there are no Chapman relatives that I know of anywhere near. Thomas j. was a blacksmith also,he had two children Thomas arthur 1883, and Beatrice Alice 1881. Thomas Arthur was my grandfather. How can you lose such a big family ! If this rings a bell with anyone doing their family history out there, I would love to hear from you......... |
