Find Ancestors

My grandmother is named Ivy French maiden name page. We have had some difficulties in researching her side of the family. She was born 21/02/1924 in Birmingham West Midlands area. We have requested the birth certificate but they have no records for her and therefore cannot send certificate?? I am slightly confused as to whether she has the correct details, but cannot find her mothers details either. Is there any way in which to find out correct details, I'm thinking now that maybe she was born under a different name??
If anyone out there can help me please get in touch I would be most grateful

Does she have sisters?
Do you know their mother's maiden name?
There is a possible on the freebmd site in June Q. 1924.
This would be a possible time, if they were rather late in registering the birth, ...but still within the 42 days allowed.

well her marriage record doesnt show her with a second christian name whereas the likely one in Birmingham is Ivy T page. I am wondering if she was mistaken as to where she was born Maybe she was brought up in the midlands but not born there ,

would have thought the two French children mmn page would be Ivy's children not her siblings??
You need to get her marriage cert to Robert W French to see who she states as her father

Ellie: Susan and Kathryn are her children, Kathryn is my mother, they were twins born 2/9/1949. Ivy is still alive but memory has gone somewhat and when we approached her about not getting her birth certificate she didnt seem that bothered, maybe skeletons in the closet????? She definately married Robert French who was my grandfather, but the maiden surname is not coming up trumps, definately bought up in the midlands area, but the only marriage that matches for her mother and father is coming up at 3 years after Ivy was born???? child out of wedlock or maybe different father to one on birth certificate??

No siblings, not that any of us are aware of anyway!

If the marriage is coming up 3 years after Ivy was born then maybe you should be looking for ivy registered in her mothers maiden name .She may have been brought up as Page but not registered as such
