Thanks everyone that is a great help especially the birth name of George Henry
Harl Chessun and the marriage entry that looks like the Chesson has been missed off ,Eliza could not read or write so would not have known anything wrong on certificates ,she also married again in 1893 in Croydon Surrey

Brian

Brian Report 22 Nov 2009 15:42

Thank you everyone ,that is correct that Poebe Gallard is Elizas,s younger sister
I have been told that at the time of the 1891 census Eliza may have been living in a caravan on Mitcham Common near the Horse and Groom P/H and may not show on the census, she seems to be a lady with a very colourfull past.

A reply to Julie and Vera I have not been able to find a death or marriage for Mary Ann perhaps she stayed with her father.
I think that is the Patrick Leary who Eliza married in 1893,does it give his address in Mitcham in 1891 census?.
