Margaret, this is really tricky isn't it? The only other possible route I can think of is the given address for Rose on the marriage cert. Maybe we can see who was living there 1911? You never know.

and I can't seem to find his service records to get the name of his wife.

I had been looking for the marriage certificate for a Albert Walter Poole for years I found it the other day under the name Walter Albert Poole have just received it thismorning 1918.. But it has told me nothing I do know his father died when he was 2 years old but he could not have known his fathers name as that to is down as Walter Albert. The lady he married was a widow age 33 a Rose Wilkinson her father is John Wilson but I can't find her first marriage . Can anyone else find it please this second marriage took place in Bethnal Green.
